Meet LaShay Ingram

LaShay Ingram is a Certified Public Accountant and the CEO of Frugal Freedom, LLC. She is a graduate of Valdosta State University where she obtained both a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 2016. She also obtained a Master’s of Accountancy in 2018 from her alma mater.

Budgeting is in LaShay’s DNA. From a small town in Georgia, LaShay came from humble means. As a child, she would budget all the money she received, whether it be from a family member, from church, or from an Easter egg hunt. She would spend a portion of her money and make sure she had enough left over to save. While she wasn’t saving with any particular goal in mind, budgeting and saving became second nature to LaShay.

During her undergraduate and graduate careers, she interned at a Fortune 500 company and Big 4 accounting firm. While in pursuit of her Master’s degree, LaShay became a published author in the Global Journal of Business Pedagogy and began to pursue her CPA license. Since graduating with her Master’s degree, she has gained experience working as an auditor, a Real Estate Accountant managing a portfolio of 11 properties and $5 million+ daily, and an Assistant Controller managing $30 million+.

In her experience, LaShay has witnessed first-hand the inequalities in access to financial education, opportunities, and status amongst minority groups. She started Frugal Freedom, LLC, a financial consulting firm that provides financial education and money management services to minority groups, to bridge this gap. Her passion for uplifting people and helping them achieve financial freedom is the heart of her business.
